Today we will play a review game.   

Good morning, today we are going to look at the world largest auto show. This is where cars are announced and the process of selling to the public begins. Some cars here are just CONCEPT cars, others are ready for production. Please use the following link to answer the questions.

1. What is a concept car and why are they made?

2. You are now to pick 2 of the cars highlighted at this link. For each one, please give a brief write up (in your own words) and include a picture. In your write up include the main interesting features of the car, a picture, how is it different than its competition, its target market and whether or not you feel it will be successful.

Now that you have some ideas about distribution, it is time to discuss your actual promotion plan.  Today you are to start with making a Promotion Campaign Chart, mapping the possible oppourtunities for your.  There is a sample on page 386 but make sure you add different types of social media, perhaps mobile marketing, hyper marketing and guerrilla marketing.  You may want to use the idea of flash mobs or other different campaigns that you have seen.  On Monday, you will begin to put your promotions together.

Now that you have chosen a method of distribution, it is time to look at specific countries.  You are to choose 5 countries that you are to focus your distribution in.  You may choose to have a base country on several different continents or just focus on one or two continents.  What you need to do is decide what countries will best suit your target market.  You need to include several Statistical Reasons for the countries you have chosen.  Use this LINK for the statistics.

2.  Look at the website, what is the Thingiverse?

3.  What job or business opportunities do 3D printers create?  Explain how they would make $.

4. Will current companies care about 3D printers?  How will current makers of products compete against 3D printers?  Think about marketing and BRANDING :)

5.  What are the pros and cons of having 3D printers becoming popular for in home use?  Cost, environmental, harm to business, ease of use, access to items.  Use a chart if necessary.

6.  Paragraph.  What do you think the future holds for 3D printers?  Will they become popular? Be a fad or niche?  Will companies try to stop them.  Are they practical?
