The film shows problems with our current consumer culture but also points out some key marketing terms.
1. What is planned obsolescence?
2. What is perceived obsolescence?
3. What are your feelings on this 'film'? Is the world in 'crisis', should we change?
4. Everyday, people are becoming (a little) more aware of how their actions affect the environment and therefore themselves. Companies are trying to become (or a least appear) more environmentally responsible. This is part of what is sometimes called the 'Green Revolutions'. Write a paragraph about what marketing opportunities are being created by the Green Revolution for existing businesses, new businesses, and marketers. Feel free to use the internet as a resource.

Today we will be talking about goods and services. We will look at the different stages of production and learn what different types of goods there are (pgs. 3-7 in your textbook).

This will be out of 10 marks so make sure that you come up with more than on when you have finished.

For todays class, you are to write about 3 to 5 advertisements or sales pitches where someone was successful in making an impact on you. It may have been a positive impact or negative. If it was an advertisement, please include the ad. If not, please describe it. Describe in detail how it made an impact on you. In the end, try to explain in ONE word, how the ad (sales pitch etc) was able to impact you.
