Marketing 12

Problem based assignment.

You and your marketing team has been hired to help improve   community. You are to create a marketing g campaign to help change people's behavior in a positive way at Frank Hurt.

First: you must decide what topic you are going to focus on.

Second: you need to create a list of attainable and realistic goals. (1-3, don't to too many, keep your campaign focused).

Third: just like in other projects, you are to come up with a plan on how you will affect change, that is, change peoples views thoughts or actions on your topic. This stage may invoke you conducting market research. For example you may want to know if there is a specific demographic that you should be targeting. You may want to have a focus group.

Four:  specific strategies. Now you need to come up with specific plans on how you plan on getting people to think of your topic. (you should use at least 3 different media types or marketing techniques).
Ideas may include but are not limited too:
Contests
Ads on Bee TV
Social media, Facebook, twitter, tumblr, linkin.
Guerrilla marketing
Posters.
Shock scenes, like in the truth.com commercials
Maybe a give away, perhaps an item with your message on it. (like how brands use customers to advertise their brands by wearing the products)

Five: now you are to go out and carry out your plan.

On-going, Weekly meetings with your team and Mr Southwell to check on progress.

Assessment. You will be assessed on how well you follow the steps above. Did you follow them?  Where you thorough?  Did you demonstrate an understanding of marketing strategies? Did you use a variety of strategies?  75 marks

Community response: I will be doing some research (surveys, focus groups in other classes) to see if your campaign was noticed and if it achieved any of your goals.  Did it make people think?  Even for just 10 seconds.

Good Morning, Sorry for being away again.  I will be back tomorrow

For today, Some of you will need to Redo assignments.  Unfortunetly, some of you have handed in other peoples work as your own.  You know who you are.  Since I keep copies from everyone, it is fairly easy to trace (it is just time consuming which I do NOT appreciate).  If you have your work done and have not cheated, thank you.  If you have, I suggest you use this time to redo you assignments and we will discuss punishments tomorrow.  Any further plagiarism will result in a referral and movement to suspension from school

Thanks again for the students who have handed in work that they have done themselves.

Today you will be looking at Disney.  One of the ways that Disney is so successful is that they are excellent at creating a brand image and tie their brand to emotional experiences.  Disney is also good at 'diversification', that is dealing in more than one area/product/target market.

Today you will focus directly on Disney Movies.  Disney traditionally made kid movies that would also appeal to parents.  Today they have diversified and make different movies with different target audiences.

Please research each of these offshoots of the Disney corporation and explain what thier target markets are.
